The Wixom Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man suspected of trying to open doors on several homes in two neighborhoods.
Police posted images on their Facebook page of the man that were captured on a home security camera.
The man is believed to have tried several doors in the area of North Wixom Road and Hopkins Drive on July 27 and in the area of Wixom Road and Pontiac Trail on Aug. 1.
The attempted intrusions occurred in the evening or nighttime.
Police are not aware of any additional attempts to enter homes, said Lt. Mark Bradley.
Concern swept through the community as a dead body was discovered around the same time as the incidents in the two neighborhoods, according to comments on the city police department’s Facebook page.
Bradley said the finding of the body was not connected to the attempted home entries and no foul play is suspected in the death.
Anyone with information about the suspected home entries or the man captured on the home security camera is asked to call police at 248-624-6174.
