Lily Herthick’s voice and piano echoed across Easton’s College Hill.
She was one of 45 performers to participate in the neighborhood’s fourth Porch Fest, with 26 porches featuring musicians from across the region.
“It’s a lot of fun. It’s a great environment where all the musicians get a little bit of exposure and get it all,” says Hercick.
It will be the first time for Hercik to perform at an event that has become a tradition, and she said such events help her reach more listeners.
“Especially on my accounts on Spotify and Apple Music, I’m getting a lot of listeners and just the general public for my music,” Hercick said.
Kim Kmetz is the mastermind behind it all.
She said she got the idea for Porch Fest after attending a similar event in Ithaca, New York many years ago.
After talking to the right people, she was able to make it happen here.
“Now it’s a tradition that everyone looks forward to,” says Kmetz.
It’s a tradition that Erin Chudley will return to, and she said she brings her family closer to home with good friends and good music.
“It’s been great. It’s been so great to have a sense of community, especially over the last two years, it’s been nice to be able to get everyone together and spend time together,” Chudolij said.
According to Kmetz, this year’s fest is the largest yet.
“This is what community and life in College Hill is all about for me, and life in Easton,” said Kumetz.
