Finally, Revel, Albuquerque’s one-stop-shop for all things entertainment, is adding a concert hall, a project it’s been working on since 2020.
Daniel Chavez, founder and owner of Revel ABQ, says Revel’s food court and bar are designed around a concert hall that is slated to open in summer 2020, just months after the initial opening. said.
“This is the pinnacle of Revel,” says Chavez. “…was always built around a concert hall.”
A concert hall is also located at Revel’s 4720 Alexander NE location.
Construction on the concert hall has been postponed until this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which closed Revel just 17 days after it opened.
The concert hall’s grand opening in October will be marked by a performance by country group Midland. The October 28 concert was already sold out, but Midland added his second performance at the concert hall the day before. Tickets are still available for the October 27th show.
Chavez has worked in the entertainment industry since 1985 when he founded Albuquerque-based production company NRG Staging. Over the past few decades, he’s noticed Albuquerque’s lack of medium-sized venues for artists.

“In doing business, I’ve seen a lot of my friends come on tours that they have to drive right away because they don’t have a place to host them,” Chavez said.
When he saw the old Sports Authority building becoming available, he sketched the Revel out concept “on a napkin.” “From a fan’s point of view, from an artist’s point of view, from a manager’s point of view,” Chavez said, the location is good.
Revel will be hosting a recruitment event this Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to recruit new concert hall employees. We plan to employ over 100 people, including bartenders, servers, security, and more.
Chavez said plans to expand Revel to other states are on hold, but the ultimate goal is to expand nationwide.
