Actor Atiyah Shetty took control of Instagram to celebrate the half-century of cricketer boyfriend KL Rahul during their match against Australia in Mohali on Tuesday. She shared a photo of him during the match and celebrated his 50th run on her Instagram story, with Rahul scoring 55 runs in just 35 balls. Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul have been together for several years. The couple became official when the cricketer attended the premiere of his brother Ahan Shetty’s debut film ‘Tadap’ in 2021 and posed together at the event. The couple recently traveled together to Munich, Germany, where Rahul underwent surgery. According to the latest reports, they are planning to move in together.
Atiyah is the daughter of veteran actor Saniel Shetty. Earlier this year, in an interview with Etimes Suniel, speaking of Rahul, he said, “I love this boy. Times have changed and it’s them who decide what they want to do. Beti aur beta dono hi responsible hai ( My daughter and son are the ones in charge. I want them to make their decisions.My blessings will always be with them.”
Saniel has also been spotted at a KL Rahul cricket match. While appearing on Gaurav Kapur’s show Breakfast with Champions, the cricketer said, “He (Suniel Shetty) is more than just a fan. He understands the game really well. He is obsessed with boundaries.” He said.
When an Instant Bollywood reporter asked Saniel about Atiyah and KL Rahul’s wedding plans, he said: Cup hai, South African tour hai, Australia tour hai. Jab bachho ko break milega tab shaadi hogi. Ek din me shaadi nahi ho sakti na? The ceremony will be held after the children have taken a day off. It can’t be done in one day, can it?”
