Adrian — The Republican primary recounts are complete, and here are the results: Kevon Martis of Riga Township is a candidate for District 7 on the Lennawie County Commission, and Dale of Onstead His Zone is currently a state representative candidate for District 34.

Some candidates received a few votes, but in the end the result was the same.
All three Republican candidates won votes in District 34, which occupies most of Lennawee County. Limited-term State Senator Dale Zorn got his 13 votes and he got 4,788 votes, and retired Madison His Township Fire Chief Ryan Rank got his four votes and he got 4,771 votes. won, by 18 votes. In the first tally, there was a difference of 8 votes. Adrian Township’s Julie Moore gave her 2,418 votes, a net gain of five votes. Zorn will face Clinton’s Democratic candidate John E. Dahlgren in the general election. If Zorn wins, it will be his final term as state representative due to his term limit.
“I am ready to move into the general election and wish Mr. Rank and Mr. Moore the best for their future and that I continue to represent Lennawee County and bring resources back to Lennawee County.” Zorn said. “The tallying process was interesting, but it was a very good process. I truly believe it is part of the electoral process and I am happy that we have such an open election.”
The District 7 Commissioner for the townships of Blisfield, Deerfield, Ogden, Palmyra, Ridgeway and Riga fell by two votes to Ogden Township incumbent Jim Getz. lost. Martis had 951 votes for him compared to his 949 for Goetz. In the first ballot tally, Martis won by 4 votes behind him. His James Hart, who shares many opinions with Martis, got his 360 votes. Unless the write-in campaign is successful, Martis will be the district’s next commissioner, as he has faced no opposition in the general election.

The recount was held at the Adrian Armory Events Center. It started Thursday morning and finished at 6pm.
