Raleigh, North Carolina (WECT) – The North Carolina Election Commission has approved a one-stop early voting site hours before the November 8, 2022 general election.
The early voting period begins at 8:00 am on Thursday, October 20 and ends at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 5 in all North Carolina counties. Registered voters may cast an absentee ballot in person at any location during this period. Those who have not registered may register to vote during this period. This is different from Election Day, when voters must go to their assigned polling place to vote.
The state board of elections website details the process individuals must follow to use same-day registration at one-stop early voting locations.
“To use same-day registration, you must complete a voter registration application and present official election proof of residency within the county. It consists of a document showing the applicant’s name and current address. To be current, documents must be current or at least dated within three months of the date presented to the elections official. A copy of a valid “Name and Address” document is acceptable.
