Gainesville, Fla. (NSF) – Ahead of Halloween, Attorney General Ashley Moody warns parents about the dangers of rainbow fentanyl. Deadly potions are brightly colored and resemble candy.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration recently seized 27,000 pills packed in various candy bags and boxes at Los Angeles International Airport.
An additional 11 pounds of fentanyl was recently found in Polk County, Florida. It’s not clear if drug dealers target children with pills, but Moody says it doesn’t matter. I’m asking you to talk to teens in particular.

According to Moody, fentanyl is extremely lethal, with as little as 2 milligrams of the drug being lethal. Over the past year, he has seen more than 8,000 Floridians die from drug overdoses, mostly from opioids.
