LEOMINSTER — This weekend, the 30th Starburst will feature music, awards and fireworks.
The annual summer tradition takes place on Saturday, August 27th at Doyle Field. (Rainy Day is his Sunday, August 28.) It’s also the official opening day of the Twin Cities Rail Trail, which runs across Doylefield’s back and Priest Street.
For the second year in a row, Starburst will not be held in its usual mid-June period. And for the second year in a row, local musicians will take center stage.
Scott Babineau takes the stage as soon as the gates open at 4:30pm. Then there will be two performances of him by Neurotic Gumbo at 5:45-6:45pm and 7:15-8:15pm. The event concludes with the annual fireworks display at approximately 8:30 pm.
Admission is free and thanks to support from local businesses and sponsors. There are also free lightsticks for kids until stocks run out.
