GH debuted in 1963 and was created by the husband and wife team of Frank and Doris Hursley at an unnamed city hospital. In fact, this setting wasn’t called Charles until the 1970s. General Hospital is currently the longest running soap opera.
From the on-and-off iterations of the legendary Laura (Genie Francis) as the main heroine of the show for 40 years, to the achievements of Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bennard) and his gang activism, GH certainly knows how to please the audience. .
