Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez appeared before the economic crimes unit on Monday in connection with an investigation into a blackmail case involving alleged fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar, officials said.
This is the second time the actor has been summoned by Delhi police for her alleged role in the incident, officials said.
A senior police officer said Fernandez was part of the investigation and is being questioned.
Last Wednesday, Fernandez was questioned for over eight hours with Pinky Irani, who allegedly introduced the actor to Chandrashekhar.
An investigation revealed that Chandrashekhar offered Fernandez’s agent, Prashant, a motorcycle for his birthday, but he refused to receive it. But Chandrashekhar had left the motorcycle and its keys at Prashant’s house, police had previously said.
Chandrashekhar, who is currently in prison here, is accused of cheating on many people, including celebrities such as Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis healthcare promoter Sivinder Mohan Singh. have been accused.
On August 17, the Bureau of Enforcement filed an indictment naming Fernandez as the defendant in a large money laundering case involving Chandrashekhar.
According to ED, Fernandez and another Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi received luxury cars and other expensive gifts from him.
