Middlesex County offers multiple ways to vote in 2022 general election
Middlesex County offers easy ways to vote, including early voting, voting on Election Day, and mail-in ballots.

Drop off your ballot in one of the county’s over 30 secure drop-boxes. Nine days of in-person early voting at any of the county’s 10 early voting locations. How to vote in the 2022 General Election
There are three ways to vote in the 2022 General Election.

Registered voters who are not already on the Vote-by-Mail permanent list and would like to vote from the comfort of their homes may request a Vote-by-Mail ballot in writing by completing the Vote-by-Mail Vote Application Form located on the Middlesex County website. The county clerk’s office must receive mail-in ballot applications submitted by mail no later than seven days before the general election date. For the November 2022 General Election, mail-in ballot applications must arrive at the county clerk’s office by November 1, 2022.
Voters may apply for a mail-in ballot in person or by an authorized messenger at the New Brunswick county clerk’s office until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022 (the day before the election) .
Voters may choose one of the following options to return their vote-by-mail ballot:
- Mail your ballot through the United States Postal Service. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by 8:00 p.m. on General Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2022, and received by the county elections commission by 8:00 p.m. on November 17, 2022.
- Submit in person to the Office of the Electoral Commission at 11 Kennedy Blvd., East Brunswick by 8:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
- Drop your ballot in the designated Middlesex County Electoral Commission drop-box by 8:00 PM on November 8, 2022.
A list of drop-boxes in all municipalities in the county can be found on the county website. The drop-boxes are managed by the Middlesex County Electoral Commission, are secure, and are monitored 24/7 by video surveillance. Ballots are periodically collected from the drop-boxes.

Registered voters who have not requested a vote-by-mail can vote using a voting machine during the nine-day early voting period preceding General Election Day at any of Middlesex County’s 10 early voting locations. Voters who choose to vote in person now sign in to an electronic ballot book deployed during the 2021 general election. Direct voting on general election day
Direct voting is available to all registered voters in Middlesex County. Voters who have not requested a mail-in ballot will be able to vote in person at their designated polling place on General Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
