Names are not accepted here. But there are scary stories about Bollywood superstars and their greedy ways on set and on location. One of the A-listers known for his intensity and superhero franchise even has producers pay for chewing gum on set. Order 5 different dishes, eat a few and take the rest home.
A major producer and director with a no-nonsense attitude reveals A-list actors are the biggest tantrum throwers. And that’s still not enough: Producers have to pay for petrol every day, pay for drivers and make-up workers, even chewing gum and cigarettes will be charged.”
These aren’t isolated cases of any A-lister determined to squeeze every penny out of a producer.
“Even those who bring their own Gal Ka Dhaba Sometimes I order expensive Chinese or Thai food to take home. God knows what they’ll do with it,” reveals the production manager.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui tells us about star tantrums. “I heard that Rajesh Khanna and Raj Kumar will be late. aaj ke superstars koi cam nahin hain (Today’s superstars are equally uncaring.)
Two of Khan’s three superstars are known to be punctual, considerate and very careful with their spending. The third is notorious for being notoriously late. This khan comes at 1:00 pm for the 9:00 am shift. Afterwards he has lunch with his companions and takes a nap. The first shots with this superstar are only taken around 5pm. After firing a few shots, he yelled, “Pack up!”

The stellar pushiness has brought the Telugu film industry to its knees. All work he stopped on August 1st. Now the Telugu industry is reopening. However, Star has issued clear guidelines on cost cutting.
Citing increased production costs post-pandemic, the Telugu Film Producers’ Council said, “All artists’ remuneration shall include staff, local transportation, local accommodation, special meals, etc. Amounts are finalized by the Producer on a role/film basis. Producers should not pay any amounts related to Artists directly, except for amounts agreed upon with the Artists themselves.”
Similar guidelines should take effect in Bollywood before it’s too late. Neros plays the fiddle while Rome burns.
