BMW has unveiled its latest EV battery. These batteries are a new design and are about 50% cheaper than current EV batteries.
The new BMW EV battery has a new round design and uses less CO2 during production. See below for details.
“The newly developed sixth-generation lithium-ion cells represent a giant leap forward in technology, improving energy density by more than 20%, increasing charging speed by up to 30%, and increasing driving range by up to 30%.” We would like to thank Frank Weber, Member of the Management Board of BMW AG for “We are also reducing his CO2 emissions from cell production by up to 60%. These are big steps for sustainability and customer benefits.”
“To meet our long-term needs, we will build battery cell factories together with our partners, each with an annual capacity of up to 20 GWh, in six key markets for us (China Two in Europe, two in Europe, USMCA,” added Joachim Post, Member of the Management Board of BMW AG responsible for purchasing and supplier networks. We have also reached an agreement with our partners to use a certain percentage of secondary materials in raw materials lithium, cobalt and nickel and to use green electricity in production to ensure CO2-reduced manufacturing. ”
