An indictment filed yesterday by the Punjabi police in the Mansa court in the Sidu Musewara murder case failed to identify the Punjabi singer’s role in the killing, as was initially speculated.

Days after his gruesome murder of the rapper-turned-politician, Punjabi singer Mankart Aulak faced a fever on social media. He has called on the Punjab police to step up security after allegedly receiving threats from the Davinder Bambiha gang.
However, Mansa police yesterday arrested Mosewara’s old associates Kanwarpal Grewal and Jyoti Pander, suspecting them of involvement in the killing. Jyoti is the owner of ‘Jatt Life Studios’ while Kanwarpal runs a music studio named ‘Folk Mafia’. Police will conduct an investigation into the duo before filing additional indictments, officials said.

In a 1,850-page indictment filed yesterday, police said the motive behind the murder was revenge for killing Akari Dal leader Vicky Midukhera in Mohali last year. He was an associate of the arrested gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who was named as the mastermind behind the case.
The name of one Shaganpreet sighted near Moosewala came to light in the Middukhera murders as he was alleged to have protected the (Middukhera) killer. Lawrence Bishnoy’s gang also suspected Moussewara to be involved in the murder.
According to sources, the plot to kill Moosewala was conceived through a network of gangs who had been held in various prisons for several months, but the day (May 28) when the Punjab government secured the singer’s safety. The mastermind issued a “kill order”. He was shot dead in the Jawaharke village of Mansa on May 29th. According to sources, the main co-conspirator, Lawrence Bischnoy, confessed to police that he planned the murder in August 2021.
