Princess Anne accompanies Queen Elizabeth to her coffin and heads to London for her state funeral.
The monarch passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on Thursday (09.08.22) and her coffin will leave for Edinburgh Airport on Tuesday and be flown to London by RAF Northolt.
Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the Queen’s only daughter, the princess, will be boarding a flight to London.
The coffin is expected to arrive at Buckingham Palace at 20.00 GMT on Tuesday, with its arrival to be witnessed by King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The Queen will lie stateside for four days before her funeral on Sept. 19, giving the public a chance to file a file in the past and pay their respects.
The funeral will be attended by members of the British royal family, as well as senior British politicians and world leaders.
This service marks the final stage of the national mourning period.
Meanwhile, Princess Anne recently shared her memories of her late mother.
The princess recalled enjoying a family vacation, and revealed that the Queen values time away from the “public gaze”.
She told the BBC:
“Because it included everything she enjoyed, the countryside, the dogs, the horses, so she could get out and get a little break from the public eye.”
Meanwhile, King Charles recalled the moments before his coronation in 1953.
He said: “I will never forget when we were little, when we were taking a bath and she came to practice wearing the crown before her coronation.
“I will never forget all those wonderful moments.”
