Hospitality and entertainment businesses in Geelong, the Surf Coast and Bellarine will be boosted by the return of popular government-funded cashback schemes.
The Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program runs through the end of the year.
The scheme allows anyone with an Australian bank account to receive cash back after dining and entertainment in Victoria
Eligible purchases total $40 or more, capped at $500 and include dining at restaurants, cafes and pubs, tickets to live music and art performances, and admission to museums, galleries and amusement parks.
Unlike previous instances, there are no days of the week restrictions.
You can submit multiple purchases. For example, if you spend $80, you can receive $20 cash back and claim more until you reach a total of $125 cash back.
Alternatively, if you spent $500 or more in one purchase, you can claim a total of $125 in one claim.
Submissions will be accepted online and will continue until December 17, or until the $25 million fund is exhausted.
Industry Support and Recovery Minister Ben Carroll said the program would boost the state’s economy
“Whether you’re booking a table for lunch or going to a live music event, this cashback program puts money back in people’s pockets and supports hard-working businesses across Victoria.”
“This program will also help build business and consumer confidence while supporting jobs and boosting the state’s economy.”
Sports, Tourism and Major Events Minister Steve Dimopoulos says the timing is perfect
“With the big big events coming up in the summer, it will give Victorians even more reason to get out and enjoy everything the state has to offer. Save money and support local businesses.”
