And the winner is… New Orleans.
Crescent City will host the Miss Universe pageant in January 2023, the pageant organization announced Monday on its social media channels.
The World Congress will be held on January 14th at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
More than 90 women from all over the world compete for the towering crown and compete in swimwear, evening dress and interview categories.
Unlike other contests, the Miss Universe contest travels to different locations around the world. Television audiences around the world will have great exposure for the city.
“Hosting the 71st Annual Miss Universe Pageant is a rare and prestigious opportunity to positively introduce New Orleans to a global audience in 165 countries and territories. The Official Destination Sales and Marketing Organization of the Hospitality Industry “Miss Universe will bring together contestants from 90 countries and their delegations, fans, celebrity judges and performers, and hundreds of journalists to support our business and enjoy our culture. and bring global influencers to New Orleans for over a week.”
The current title holder is Harnaaz Sandhu from India.
Miss USA, representing the United States, will be decided on October 3rd in Reno, Nevada.
This pageant was owned by Donald Trump, who sold it in 2015.
